Maxine is the inspiration for our latest design…the Maxine reversible pull-on tank top. What drew us to Maxine is her comfort and ease with her body after a bilateral mastectomy. She is "living flat". In this world of impossible beauty ideals, it is uplifting and encouraging for all of us.
During her treatments for breast cancer, Colleen tried to stay as active as possible by going to yoga and exercise classes specifically geared to people living with cancer. Some days it was difficult getting out of bed, but she always felt better after some exercise.
When Colleen was diagnosed with breast cancer, she turned to restorative yoga and it was the best thing she could have done for her mind, body and spirit.
With chemotherapy, surgery and radiation all behind me, I somehow thought I would instantly be all better and could get on with my life. Boy, was I wrong.
The Gift of Hope Fashion Fundraiser, held on December 1st, was the official launch of the coKANna adaptive clothing line designed for women touched by breast cancer, as well as a fundraiser for the Ottawa Integrative Cancer Centre’s Babes4Breasts Head Start program.
